But where will you put everything?

What happens when you two get in a fight?

Those are just a couple of the questions I hear every time I tell people that I am building a Tiny House to live in with my fiance. If you watch HGTV, you probably know what the Tiny House movement is; there is a trend of people wanting more in life, which in turn, means they are learning to live with less by downsizing what they own and moving into homes that are less than 300 square feet.

My fiancé and have decided to join in on this - what most people consider crazy - lifestyle. We want to downsize for the same reasons as most other Tiny Housers: to have more freedom to travel (since your house can come with you), to leave a smaller carbon footprint, to not be a slave to rent or a mortgage, and to surround ourselves with items we find exceptionally special. “Going Tiny” is not just about saving money or resources, it is actually a way to enhance life by living simply enough to allow room for true happiness, serenity, clarity, and freedom.

Our trailer just arrived, meaning we will start building soon - I will keep you all updated on our tiny life and big adventures along the way!

Fondue for Two

Valentines is on its way! Have you figured out what you and your sweetheart are doing this year?

A nice meal at a restaurant is great, but can be a bit overwhelming and expensive. This year consider heating things upwith some fondue! It’s simple to make and fun to eat.

How romantic is it to have an intimate dinner for two with some candles seated by a fire rather than at busy restaurant?!

Here are some variations/additions for traditional cheese fondue:
  • Beer and Cheddar
  • Roasted Garlic
  • Roasted jalapeño (or you can use paper jack for that same spicy effect)
  • Gruyere and Cider
  • Pesto
  • Spinach and Artichoke

Or simply buy a round of Camembert and bake it until the inside is melty. Then crack the top and dip!

Here's some Melting Facts:

What to get fancy? Try baked brie with maple syrup and thyme.

Sweet Fondue:
  • Mexican Chocolate
  • Coconut Rum or Cherry liquor and Chocolate
  • Orange and Honey Chocolate
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate
  • Butterscotch
  • Salted Caramel

Natural Nourishment

Let me ask you this- What sounds more inviting then slipping into a hot bath filled with luxurious bath salts?
Add a few candles, some wine or champagne, and let the stress of the day slip away.

Jeriel Sydney is an amazing creator of bath salts, candles, soaps, and much more! She took a break from her studies to travel to Italy where she and her partner Tim explored, ate, worked, and learned to appreciate the most basic and wholesome elements of life.

Jeriel loved waking up in the morning and feeding the sheep.  She loved long dinners and dancing in the dining room with Tim.  Most of all she was in love with making everything from the food that they ate to many items they used.  This was made more fulfilling by sharing it with friends and family.

When they arrived back in the States, Tim immediately had an intense allergic reaction to the detergents in the soaps they were buying. Jariel decided to try and recreate the soap she had perfected in Parma, Italy. After consulting with a good friend and naturopath, she decided to use goat’s milk for the soap base. Tim’s skin was relieved! When their friends caught wind of what she was doing, they wanted to try the soap too. Word spread and before long several shops and estheticians were carrying and selling Jeriel’s creations.

When we connected with her, we were overjoyed with the beauty and quality of her products. Trust me, after soaking in an indulgent hot bath sprinkled with her 'The Bee and the Jupiter' bath soak your skin is glowing and feels silky and hydrated.  Don’t just take my word for it though. We have an amazing selection of Jariel’s creations available for you to purchase and take home at our Design House!

Inspired Spaces Design House will feature Jeriel and Fable Soap Co. at our next Wine & Design event, this Thursday from 4-7pm.
